Alaska 5000

A bizarre cosmic collision propelled Alaska 5000 to Earth in March 1966… and on to the fifth season of Logo TV’s RuPaul’s Drag Race in January 2013, and on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2 in 2016. Still radioactive, no one knows who or what she is yet, but no one cares, as long as she never returns to her native planet. Her age and species remain unknown to the public, but a few of her enemies claim to hold copies of her spawning record and universal passport. After her spaceship crashed in the Matanuska Valley, a remote part of south-central Alaska, the U.S. government recovered an emaciated… make that, an emancipated alien, with a 1972 issue of Vanity Fair and a can of Tab, or that’s how the story goes. Why she needed an Elmer’s glue stick, no one has determined. She refuses to acknowledge it was in her possession. Few believe the wreckage was really smoldering, since magazines tend to burn, and cynics wonder if she was actually held captive in a research facility, or entertained by the night watchman until he got bored with her in the 1980s. She’s supposedly on the run from officials, but everyone knows they take off their uniforms and sneak into the clubs where she performs. Some turned into groupies and hang around long after the shows are over. A well-traveled, campy extraterrestrial does have her perks and her irritations. Transients and drifters are directed to the nearest black hole via her pre-screw-you GPS navigation, and drug-addled layabouts are allowed to create their own black holes. She promises to upload each and every one into the system.

April Carrión

From Pipi, to Vajayjay — With a heads up and only a month of preparation, April embarked on her first drag competition as a form of documentation and experience. He signed up for his first competition “Queen of the Night” in Aquamares, a deserted club on the other side of the island, where the persecution of his performance would forever remain silent if everything went awry (tipping in pennies is a shameful practice). The rules of the competition were simple: the winner would be chosen by applause and you had to perform homage to Britney. In a innovate twist by Puerto Rican standard (FYI Puerto Rico is all about pageantry) April skipped the gimmicks that meant no pads, & no wigs. The refreshing proposal captured the public’s attention and against all odds April won her first title. Road to Diva invented by legend extraordinaire Miss Nina Flowers was the biggest drag talent competition for newcomers in its hay day. It had weekly challenges and more plot twists than a telenovela (it included talents such as Yara Sofia, Kenya Michaels, Kandy Ho’ & Queen Bee Ho’). April signed up ambitious and ready. Sadly, this wasn’t the victory she was hoping for, but most importantly, April gained fans and she was no longer homeless. Hello new mom and sisters! The Dollhouse is the name and excellence is what it stands for. Lil’ April, ever the current queen, found herself competing in the top of the top competition “Miss Krash” (the Drag version of Miss Universe in Puerto Rico) when she was taken in by the most well known drag house in the island. Whether it be their high end productions, expensive wigs, beautiful faces or fearless bitch attitude, Zahara Montierre, Rochelle Moncherri, Queen Bee Ho’, and Kandy Ho’ embraced April in its powerful island domination and April never looked back. With her new alliance and personal Team April secured the crown and was named Miss Krash Puerto Rico 2011. This new exposure and platform escalated her to numerous adventures including a leading role in Gloria Stefan’s “Hotel Nacional” (2012), face of the Puerto Rican Queer Film Festival (2012), and walking for numerous household designers in the Puerto Rican fashion industry (2013), as well as headlining Hair show galore “Battle of the Strands” (2013).

India Ferrah

Shane Richardson also known as The Goddess India Ferrah is originally from Roanoke, VA (The Star City of The South) and has been in the art of female impersonation for the last 15 years. After moving to Lexington, KY at the age of 20, India started working with Chelsea Pearl at Club 141 and then decided to compete in her first national pageant called All American Goddess in 2008. She captured the title and crown just 5 days before turning 21. India then moved to Ohio and auditioned for the first 2 seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race; however, it wasn’t until season 3 came along that India Ferrah was cast on the show. After the show, India went through a lot of ups-and-downs and received a lot of criticism, and did not quite know how to handle it. Shane made the decision to pack India’s bags and quit drag. Although people thought she blamed the show for quitting, India hung up her heels because drag stopped being fun for her and it began to feel more like a chore and a job. So Shane sold all of his drag except his makeup, and made a fresh start in July 2012 when he moved to Las Vegas,NV. Shane moved out to Vegas with the hopes of becoming a make-up artist and working backstage for shows on the famous strip. He was offered a job to host his own show as India at 8 1/2 – Piranha Nightclub. He turned down the position, but the offer was extended again. So he decided to break out the pumps and wigs and re-create India from the beginning (India 2.0). Shane accepted the position as show hostess for the Saturday night show, which would be titled GODDESS. He still resides in Las Vegas, NV almost 3 years later and now hosts Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at Piranha Nightclub in the world famous Fruit Loop. India is also the host of the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 Viewing Party at Piranha on Monday nights. She still continues to travel the country and is so thankful and blessed to be able to work and travel doing what she loves once again.

Jinkx Monsoon

Jerick Hoffer graduated summa cum laude with a degree in theatrical performance from Cornish College in Seattle. His talented peers are singing his praises, but his overbearing and impudent persona, known as Jinkx Monsoon (the winner of season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race), didn’t go for the academic hype. Jinkx wanted to be famous, not smarter than everyone, and she succeeded. Influenced by a grandmother with charm school polish, Hoffer learned to combine the sophistication of a southern belle with the crass behavior of a working girl. Jinkx is all about contrasts and what RuPaul describes as “a stage left, off center kind of quality.” With ten years experience on stage, Hoffer is a seasoned Portland-born entertainer who has captured the attention of his native northwest region. The creation of Jinkx was complicated. “From the movie Death Becomes Her, I was inspired by the crazy extent vain women will go for eternal youth, beauty, and power,” Hoffer explains. “Through Lucille Ball I saw how a woman can bring you to tears with laughter with nothing more than a look. Through the Disney villains I was raised with, I saw how powerful a woman can be, and yet so deliciously evil. And through my mom, I saw not only the trials and tribulations a single mother faces every day, but also the strength and determination a woman can possess when she is trying to provide a bright future for her children.”
