Pele and Laka

This illustration was inspired by the Hawaiian goddesses Pele and Laka. In Hawaiian mythology, Laka is the goddess of Hula, and Pele is the volcano goddess. Some myths described Laka dancing the Hula to appease/entertain Pele. Laka is also known as the goddess of the wild woods/forest, so I wanted to surround her feet with flora.
