Dallas Fuel Cosplay Competition - Saturday








The Dallas Fuel will host a cosplay contest each day for ticketed event attendees. Fans can dress in their favorite Overwatch hero cosplay and enter at a dedicated cosplay station for a chance to win a Dallas Fuel signed player “big head” cutout, Dallas Fuel jersey, gear from CORSAIR, and a Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend swag pack. "Judge's Choice" will be voted on by popular cosplayers @bindismalls and @frostbitecosplay "Fan Favorite" will be voted on by you and all the other attendees right here on Fan Guru. Just tap VOTE to cast your vote for your favorite entry. COSPLAY AND PROP RULES Homestand Weekend Dallas is a family friendly event. These rules apply to everyone in Allen Event Center function space and Courtyard by Marriott space that is part of Homestand Weekend Dallas. There may be minor exceptions for cosplay contests, but you must have the contest coordinator’s approval. For additional questions, email events@dallasfuel.com. DRESS CODE RULES: Costumes that could be confused with local, state, or federal law enforcement of any kind are not permitted All masks must be removed while entering the building. Masks can be put back on for photo opportunities but should remain off otherwise. Nothing that you could use to attach yourself, even temporarily, to another person. Examples: handcuffs, leashes, rope, etc. No profanity on clothing or costume Flesh colored garments or accessories do not count as coverage. Underwear is not clothing and cannot be worn on its own. Shoes must be worn at all times. Flip-flops at minimum. Men must also wear opaque clothing over their breasts (refer to graphic below for more information). However, it is acceptable that men can remove their shirt temporarily for cosplay photos. Make sure your costume does not contour to your private body parts. If it does please wear extra undergarments as necessary PROP CHECK · All Cosplay props must be taken to Prop Check regardless of size, type, or material · All props will be tagged after being approved by prop check staff · All attendees are required to comply with requests by Convention Staff, Hotel Staff, and Dallas Police to verify that Prop Check has been performed and the prop in question is permitted · All masks must be removed while entering the building. Masks can be put back on for photo opportunities but should remain off otherwise. All masks must be removed when purchasing alcoholic beverages

Please be advised that signing up for any cosplay contest is an affirmation that you agree to adhere to the rules presented on the Fan Guru : Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend website as well as any decisions made by cosplay staff prior to, or during, Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend. All cosplay events/panels have the potential to be photographed/filmed/recorded in some fashion. These recordings may be used in future galleries or promotions. Signing up for, and/or attending, any cosplay event is done with the understanding that recording could occur at any time and permission is tacitly given for the participant's likeness to be used. General Rules for the Competition You must be a registered Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend attendee in order to compete. Contestants under the age of 18 need a parent at the event to sign a waiver in order to compete in the cosplay contest. Your costume must cover swimsuit areas – no nudity. Body-paint costumes are not eligible for craftsmanship. The contest is open to Overwatch characters only. Rule breakers will be disqualified. Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend adheres to the PG‐13 rule when it comes to language/hand gestures on stage. Violation of this rule may cause you to be disqualified from the competition. Overtly political or religious statements are not allowed. Violation of this rule may be grounds to be disqualified from the competition. (If you're unsure about whether what you want to do will cross the line, please ask by submitting an email or inquiring at the cosplay registration table.) During the contest enter and exit the stage at the designated points only. There will be a wheelchair-accessible ramp for contestants. Costumes must be handled by the contestant or by handler(s) the contestant brings to help. Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend will not provide assistants. You are not allowed to throw anything off the stage (this means no projectiles) or use anything on stage that will leave a mess. This includes (but is not limited to) liquids, glitter and confetti. If you have a question about something you want to do, feel free to send an email with “Costume Contestant Question” as the subject. All participants are encouraged to keep at least one foot on the ground at all times. No pyrotechnics, fire, explosive devices, live animals or similar special effects can be used during the competition; this includes smoke/smog machines and flash powder. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and be asked to leave the convention area depending on the severity of the incursion. All prop weapons must conform to the Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend prop policies, including being checked. Children (age 12 and below, see Children's Cosplay Competition for more details) who need a parent to accompany them on stage will need to compete in the Children's Costume Competition instead of the main stage Costume Contest. However, parent/child teams are allowed to compete in the main stage competition together. Each contestant may only enter one costume into the competition. Costumes in the group should be correlating. Dallas Fuel Homestand Weekend reserves the right to turn away any contest entry it deems inappropriate or not in compliance with the rules. Keep in mind that the cosplay contest is a family-friendly event. Voting will be a combination of guest cosplay judges and fan votes.
